We truly value the contribution our volunteers make to improving the lives of women with cancer by helping us to carry out activities throughout the year.
These activities include:
- Major annual events, such as Comedy for Cancer
- Bi-annual donor appeals
- Fundraising campaigns, including GO step for Gynae

ANZGOG’s Community Ambassador Program
Women reaching out to women
ANZGOG is dedicated to improving the outcomes and quality of life for women with gynaecological cancer, through research into its causes, prevention and treatment.
The lack of awareness about gynaecological cancer means too many women are dying. We want to change this and with your help, are confident that we can make a difference to women right across this country and the globe.
To succeed in achieving our goals, we are inviting women who have had first-hand experience with gynaecological cancer – who may be gynaecological cancer survivors, or family or friends of survivors – to help us spread the word about this disease within their local communities.
We are asking Ambassadors to:
- Know the symptoms of gynae cancer; listen to your body; take control of your health
- Get involved – reach out to women like you and raise awareness for gynaecological cancer and the need for research
The first step of the program will be for all our Ambassadors to come together to meet and share their experiences and receive further information about gynaecological cancer and ANZGOG’s work. We will also provide you with some training in public speaking skills. This activity will take place in Sydney on Friday, 27 February 2015 and, if you are serious about becoming an Ambassador and would like to join us, we will cover your travel and associated expenses.
From there we ask that you make at least two public presentations within the year to raise awareness about gynaecological cancer and research within your community. These presentations could be anything from a ‘Girl’s Night In’ with a group of your friends and wider contact base, to a public presentation to a local community group such as Probus or Rotary.
